Mike Hasemann, of our accounting department, was recently named a Shining Star.
His nomination read:

“Mike is amazing and has been wearing so many hats! He goes out of his way to help with anything needed and always is pleasant and has a smile on his face! I have never once seen him stressed or overwhelmed even in the midst of year-end reports and start of new year … all this while covering 3 positions! Mike truly is a shining star!”

Shining Stars are HomeServices of Nebraska associates, including managers, employees and agents, who help make our company a better place for our customers, clients and for each other. Nominees must exemplify the following:

  1. The person went out of their way to exceed the HomeServices of Nebraska Standards and best practices.
  2. The gesture or service was above and beyond normal job requirements or expectations.
  3. The employee, manager or agent went beyond the call of duty to ensure the needs of a customer, fellow employee or agent.

Anyone is invited to nominate employees, agents or managers who have displayed The Shining Star Spirit. For someone to be recognized, a Shining Star Nomination Form must be submitted by the 15th of every month. *A participant is eligible to win one (1) time per year.

HOME Real Estate helps raise $2,600 for Heart Association

HOME Real Estate offices helped raise more than $2,600 for the American Heart Association during the company’s annual “Paper Heart Challenge.”
The Pine Lake office won the challenge, raising nearly $600 from the sales of different colored paper hearts. The winning office earns a breakfast cooked by corporate staff.
HOME Real Estate and its sister companies hold the “Paper Heart Challenge” each February during National Heart Health month.

HOME Real Estate chooses winner in JumpStart Challenge

HOME Real Estate was pleased to be a sponsor of the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development’s JumpStart Challenge for the second year in a row. HOME and its parent company, HomeServices of Nebraska, awarded a $1,000 cash prize to the team of Cory Scott and Matan Gill, who presented an innovative solution named “myBlock” to the company’s neighborhood reviews challenge.
“Not only was myBlock well designed, Cory and Matan did excellent research into the business and regulatory side of the problem,” said Ben Dinger, Internet Services Manager for HomeServices of Nebraska, who, alongside General Manager Shannon Harner, awarded the prize to Scott and Gill.
LPED’s JumpStart challenge involves corporate sponsors presenting an industry problem to various teams who, in turn, pitch a solution at a later date to the companies. HomeServices was joined by Cabela’s and nMotion accelerator in judging the Challenge, which is now in its third year. HOME honors top associates

HOME Real Estate celebrated its top professionals at an awards banquet Feb. 5 at the Country Club of Lincoln.
Leighun Brabec of the North office was named 2014 Realtor of the Year, and Jeni Eitzman Meyer of the North office was the Top Overall Residential Producing and Residential Selling Associate. Anita Rockenbach of the Pioneer Greens office was the recipient of the Steve Schleich Community Service Award.
Abby Burmeister of the Pioneer Greens office was named Top Overall Residential Listing Associate, and Jeff Johnson of the Cotner office had the Most Closed Units by an Associate. Meyer also earned the Excellence in Outgoing Referrals Award.
Lydi & Vladimer Gorbun of the Pine Lake office won the top Couple Awards for residential listings, new construction, units and overall production, while Paul & Madonna Kardell of the Pioneer Greens office were the top couple for residential sales.
The Top Overall Producing Team and Most Units Closed by a Team awards went to the Searcy Team of the Cotner office.
Each office recognized agents in four different categories. Top Producers in each office were: Jeff Johnson, Cotner office; Jeni Eitzman Meyer, North office; Doug Hanna, Pine Lake office; and Abby Burmeister, Pioneer Greens office.
Newcomer of the Year awards went to Roger Berry at Cotner, John Crumrine at North, Jake Grasmick at Pine Lake, and Saul Bakewell of Pioneer Greens.
The Top New Construction Associates in each office were Noel Herrington, Cotner; Katie Bugbee, North; Lydi & Vladimer Gorbun, Pine Lake; and Vern Sorensen, Pioneer Greens.
Finally, all the agents in each office voted for a fellow agent who best exemplifies the spirit of the office. Roger Berry won the Agent Choice award from Cotner, June Ring for North, Doug Hanna for Pine Lake and Myron Tremain for Pioneer Greens.

Nickie Casburn promoted to Relocation Director

HOME Real Estate has announced that Nickie Casburn will be the company’s full-time Relocation Director.
Casburn has worked with the HOME Real Estate family of companies for more than 20 years, most recently as an executive assistant to the general manager. In her new role, she will work with companies relocating people to and from the Lincoln area in addition to serving HOME Real Estate agents with their client relocation needs.
Casburn, a Lincoln native, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in early childhood and elementary education. She and her husband, Paul, have three sons: two at UNL and one in high school.
Casburn fills the position being vacated by Jennifer Lemke, who is leaving the corporate office to work as an agent alongside her husband, Eric, at the HOME Real Estate Pine Lake office.
